ReClaim South Ambassador Project: The Beltzhoover United Positive Effect Garden

Program Area: Ambassador Project, ReClaim

Topic: Community Gardens, Vacant Land

Year: 2013, 2014

Neighborhood: Beltzhoover

About the Project

The Positive Effect Garden has had a positive effect on neighborhood youth since it started back in 2012. With additional support provided through the GTECH’s Ambassador Program, The Garden has engaged the community even more. In the summer of 2014,  a pathway, small stage, checkers table, hopscotch, additional plantings and seating was installed on the space.

“I just started watering the garden, and within that garden I found myself. I found peace- inner peace. I found something to share with the children of tomorrow and to be effective in my community. “

Miss Natalie's idea for updates to her Postive Effect Garden

The site was initially worked on by Creative Visions before Miss Natalie adopted it.

Volunteers helped to add a path, stage with seating, and additional planting to the garden.
