What’s in that bag?

With the ReEnergize Pgh Energy Efficiency Challenge swinging into full gear, here’s an insider’s look at what participants are working with.

Every household that signs up to be a part of the competition receives a ReEnergize Pgh Energy Efficiency kit! Our Ambassadors have been hard at work getting these useful tools into the hands of their neighbors. This week, we’ll be taking a look inside the Energy Efficiency kits and discovering what is inside, why, and how you can use these easy fixes to save energy and conserve resources in your own home.

ReEnergize Pgh Weatherstripping!

Weatherstripping is the process of sealing doors and windows in your home from the elements.

Taking the time to weatherstrip not only protects you from drafts, but also keeps your home more comfortable, lowers your utility bill and helps reduce noise!

There are two tools that we provide in the ReEnergize Pittsburgh bags:

  1. foam weather strip tape
  2. doorsweeps

Foam Tape

Our foam weather strip tape is super easy to install – just clean the surface you will be applying it to, peel off the backing and stick it in place!

Door Sweeps

IMG_3053A door sweep is a piece of plastic or rubber that fits across the bottom of a door. When attached to your door, they provide a weatherproof seal and prevent drafts from coming in.

Door sweeps come in a variety of sizes, styles and materials.
